The term "collection" is used to describe artificially assembled groups of documents (as opposed to an " archive group "), that is to say various groups of material assembled otherwise than as a result of normal administrative work or documents assembled (sometimes subsequently) in order to form a series, which unlike an archive group, does not give a complete picture of the activity of a given administrative unit. In other words, a collection is a group of documents or articles, which are isolated from their natural context. It covers League of Nations as well as UNOG collections.
