In 1929, Mrs. Henry Loomis, President of the American Society for the Relief of Russian Exiles, proposed the creation of the Anti-Tuberculosis Fund. The purpose of the Fund was to alleviate by all reasonable, practical means ... the situation of Russian refugees suffering from, or threatened with tuberculosis. The finance of the Fund in the amount of 10,000 dollars was born equally by the High Commissioner Office and the American Society. It was managed by a Committee with representatives from the two contributors and the Old Organisation of the Russian Red Cross. The Old Organisation of the Russian Red Cross was responsible for the placement of Russian tuberculosis patients in different sanatoriums mainly in France and also in Bulgaria and Germany.
Contains requests for financial assistance for medical treatment made on behalf of refugees by Nansen Office representations and forwarded to the Old Russian Red Cross Directorate General (Direction Générale de l'ancienne organisation de la Croix rouge Russe); list of Russian tubercular invalids placed in sanatoria established on 13 February 1930.
