Administrative history
Although this body depended on the Nansen's action in favor of Greek refugees from Asia Minor, it was supervised since 1923 by the Financial Committee.
The Financial Committee was concerned with Europe's post-war financial disorder. As the financial advisory body of the Council of the League of Nations the Financial Committee was in charge of controlling the Greek Refugee Settlement Commission because of the loan this latter was granted under the auspices of the League of Nations to cope, at that time, with the influx of more than one million Greek refugees from Asia Minor.
This Greek Refugee Settlement Commission disappeared on 31 December 1930.
