An ad hoc study group by the UN Commission on Human Rights for the purpose of considering a proposal for establishment of regional commissions on human rights within the UN family met for the first time today, elected officers and discussed the organization of its work. Per-Olof V. Forshell (Sweden) and A. A. Mohammed (Nigeria) were unanimously elected as Chairman and Vice-Chairman, respectively, at this morning's meeting. The 11 members of the Ad Hoc Study Group are Chile, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Jamaica, Nigeria, Philippines, Poland, Sweden, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, United Arab Republic and United States.
