The UN Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities, which is now holding its 12th session, today continued consideration of the report on discrimination in religious matters prepared by Dr. Arcot Krishnaswami, of India. At the afternoon meeting, the Sub-Commission heard a statement on discrimination against women, by Mrs. Marie-Helene Lefaucheux (France), a representative of the UN Commission on the Status of Women.

Here, shortly before the meeting got under way, Dr. Krishnaswami is seen discussing a document with Mrs. Lefaucheux (centre); and Mrs. S. Grinberg-Vinaver, Chief of the UN Section on the Status of Women. Dr. Krishnaswami, in addition to being Special Rapporteur for the study of discrimination in the matter of religious rights and practices, was elected Vice-Chairman of this session of the Sub-Commission.
