The reorganisation of the refugee work was initiated following the decisions taken during the 10th Assembly to wind up the refugee organisation within 10 years. The file contains discussions, comments made by Messrs. T. Lodge, I. Kerno, Avenol, Walters on the operation and financial arrangements and the transfer of refugee operations to the League of Nations through the creation of a "International Refugees Office". It also proposed to creat an Executive Council or Committee to oversee the liquidation. It mentioned the nomination of a new High Commissioner following the death of F. Nansen. There was correspondence with other officials of the League, with individual who looked for openings in the new organisation and with an NGO called the "American Society for Relief of Russian Exiles, Inc.", "Joint Foreign Committee of the Jewish Board of Deputies and the Anglo-Jewish Association". It also contains the inputs to the draft report of the Secretary-Genera on the future organisation of refugee work and a League document A.34.1930.XIII dated 5 September 1930 on "Russian, Armenian, Assyrian, Assyro-Chaldrean and the Turkish Refugees - Report by the Inter-Governmental Advisory Commission attached to the High Commissioner for Refugees".

This series is comprised of a total of 296 titles (included, but not indvidually numbered: 28 duplicated copies and 2 periodical issues). Brochures, reviews, booklets, documents, maps, pamphlets and reprints that were titled in this series referred to 22 countries. They were written in 12 languages and some have several translations. The period covered in this series ranges between 1917 and 1946, with the majority relating to the 1910s and 1920s. Topics of the publications are peace movements and their worldwide historical development as well as the activities of peace associations and societies. They also include thoughts and opinions of various authors on the question of peace and war and on the concept of the united world and permanent peace which might be accomplished by a universally recognised code of international law or the voluntary establishment of an organization that went beyond the confines of national culture.

This series is comprised of 870 titles ranging in dates from 1912-1959 (with the majority of items dated in the 1920s-1940s). The material - brochures, pamphlets, scripts, leaflets, posters, flyers and newspaper clippings - concerns peace societies and peace work in 10 different countries and is written in 8 different languages. Some publications have several translations, including a few items in Esperanto. Duplicate copies are included and individually numbered. Plubcations illustrate the activities of international peace societies such as the Federal Council of Churches in America, National Peace Council, League of Free Nations Association, World Movement for World Federal Government, Society of Friends (Quakers), Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and League to Abolish War. This series also has extensive coverage on teh work of the National Council for Prevention of War.

The publications range in date from 1924 to 1960 (with greatest coverage in the 1930s) and are written in nine different languages, some items having several translations. The main topics are questions of family care, social care, health care, schools and children's homes.
