This file contains a collection of Dried Specimens of the "Famanga” plant furnished by the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture, and given to the Opium Secretariat by Russel Pacha (a.k.a. Sir Thomas Wentworth Russell), first director of the Egyptian Central Narcotics Intelligence Bureau. The spine of the box contains the following notes: "C.N.I.B. Dossier no. C/I/I. The local press published in July 1929 that the Ministry of Agriculture found a new crop called KAMANGA. The chemical analysis of which that it has the same effect as hashish."
