The main body of the collection consists of material in connection to the International Office for the Defense of Indigenous People ("Bureau international pour la défense des indigènes").

Three main topics can be distinguished.

  • The first one concerns the question of forced labour (Putumayo, West Africa),
  • the second refers to the Montenegro problem in the wake of the First World War
  • and the third one consists of material on Belgian Congo.

The collection consists of pamphlets and reports, newspaper clippings and extensive correspondence (Anti-Slavery and Aborigines Protection Society, Union of Democratic Control, etc.).
