  • 1930-1945 Member of the Permanent Commission for Transit and Communications Problems of the League of Nations;
  • 1930-1945 League of Nations Committee of Jurists (chairman from 1938 until 1945);
  • 1946-1951 First Director of the European Office of the United Nations at Geneva;
  • 1945-1946 Representative of United Nations Secretary-General engaged in transfer of the League of Nations assets to the United Nations.
