A concert given this evening in the General Assembly Hall by the Symphony Orchestra of the Florence Festival (Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino) marked the celebration of the ninth anniversary of Human Rights Day (10 December) at UN Headquarters. The concert was broadcast in the United States by the American Broadcasting Company and Station WNYC, televised by Station WOR-TV and broadcast overseas by shortwave.

Vitetti, wife of Italy's Permanent Representative to the UN; Sir Leslie Munro (New Zealand), President of the UN General Assembly; and Lady Munro; Mr. Franco Mannino, who conducted the orchestra in the final work of the evening and was pinao soloist for Cesar Franck's "Symphonic Variations"; and Ambassador Leonardo Vitteti, Italy's Permanent Representative to the UN.
